Yes, Dick and I are still married after 37 years and living in 6 different states across the U.S. ( some several times ).

We have 2 married children, Kevin is 32 and Lisa is 28 and 2 beautiful grandchildren Byrce and Brennan.

After 33 years Dick has just retired from GMAC and we are finally back home in Florida. He has started a new career with Chem-Aqua and is loving the change of pace.

We are so happy to be close to our grandbabies again and being able to spend more time on our boat in Jacksonville.

We now call Port Orange Florida home !!! ( Daytona Beach area )

Hope you all have a wonderful time, wish we could be there !!!!!!

Comment:      I notice many of you are retired at this point in your lives.  I am trying something different.  After raising and educating five children (homeschooling) I have started back to college  in nursing.  I already have a degree but didn't find that it translated into job or money when I started back to work.  I love what I'm doing.  Four of my children are going to the same University that I am.  I hope to become a traveling nurse and see the country and world as I work.

Before marriage and children, I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Mt. Whitney (600 miles), parachuted out of an airplane, operated heavy construction equipment, taught school, co-operated a wilderness youth horsemanship camp, ran a sleigh ride business in Leavenworth, WA, traveled and camped through Europe, Middle East and Israel, worked in an archeological dig, my horse and I were filmed in a Walt Disney Movie,  amongst many other adventures.

I am very thankfull for a rich and full life.  Those of you with children know that they are the richest blessing of all.  See you in August!

Comment: Wow, I can't believe it's been 40 years. Inside I feel the same, it's just the outside that has a little wear and tear. I am a geologist specializing in landslide repair (send rain). I surf nearly every weekend. We have two lovely daughters. One daughter, Melissa lives in Park City where we have a second home. You may have seen her TV show Off Shore Adventures. I also really enjoy my Laker tickets. Sorry Rip City but we have had a few great years.

Wilmington, NC

I like the Lake Theater photo. Have fond 9th grade memories of seeing "Beach Blanket Bingo" there or a movie of similar surfer genre. Still listen to the Doors and Canned Heat. I remember going with Klein to downtown Portland to buy blues albums, and trips to Burnside with Sheffield to drink Sweet Red.

My wife and I live 8 miles from the Atlantic Ocean- water temp @ 80 degrees this time of year.  In late August the ocean is smooth and green like the tropics. Will soon do my annual two mile swim to the Jetty.

So far this season, no major hurricanes; Wilmington is a magnet for them. We've been through seven or eight since moving here in 1977.  Arthur grazed us last month.

Had a good (phone) talk with Yukon Bob in April. Rereading 20 year reuniion updates, I came across the following description about Tom Starr's then teaching experience: "I find teaching exciting and high school students not much different than what we were used to. Run into some Mc Neilly's and Wallace's in my classes and know what patience LOHS' teachers must have had."

Read an article about Klein performing on an upright Steinway in a Bellingham bar. No word from Sheffield who Chris Gray refers to as "the head Shef". Still have polaroid pictures of a June 1968 trip  to the Oregon Coast in a green VW van with Mike James, the head Shef, John Rogers, Paul Klein, and Chuck Applegate. Fortunately, this was before the time of the internet and the vast social media experiment with its ease of photo sharing. These photos are safely unshared in my photo album due to one Laker shown passed out on the Oregon sand and subsequent efforts by 5 Lakers to hoist him like a trophy moose into the back of the van where he slept off the effects of too many Olys.

If you see them, say hello to Klein, Rogers, Shef, Bunnell, Zehrung, A. West, Soller, Deppy, Mogabgab, Boek,Wintermute, Evans, Klemz, Callahan, Steve Spahr, Cliff Soule, Bob Pinnick, Mike James, Chris Gray, Scottie Parker, and all the rest.  Too bad Klein and Sheffield aren't hitch-hicking across the country anymore; that's likely the only way I'd see them before the 50th. Have fun.

Comment: It is great fun to see everyone on this site and thanks to all for the hard work putting the reunion together. I stayed in the Portland area since High School, bought 5 acres and moved to Battleground, WA in 1990. Married and with the same guy for 35 years. Got back to my passion with horses about 8 years ago and love every minute of it.  Spend lots of time riding my horse on the great trails in SW Washington. Never had any children, but have 3 dogs, 2 horses, 1 cat and a parrot. Had fun showing dogs since 1987 and finally had a big win at the Portland Shows in January to be on Animal Plant. Ha! my big claim to fame. Was a medical assistance for 13 years then went into Human Resource  insurance side and now work with businesses / voluntary employee benefits. Miss the simpler times of living in LO in the 60's, got rid of internet/cell phone/email a couple years ago and it was total bliss, but had to reconnect for business. So much for my short protest against the establishment. Can't wait to see everyone at the reunion. Till then enjoy everyday.
