Married, with 2 dogs and a husband, and assorted cats. Living in the same house in San Jose since 1982, although I had moved to the Bay area a couple years before that. Age is catching up with me - I need tri-focals now. LinkedIn (Margaret Reed, Complete Genomics) gives most of my work history. My company was shut down last May, so I deleted my first 2 jobs so I wouldn't look quite so ancient. Spent 8 yrs at AMPEX running their scanning electron microscope. AMPEX invented and commercialized the tape recorder (remember those?). They were taken over by someone with no business sense, kept down-sizing, so I jumped ship and took a temp job with pharma company (Syntex - they invented the birth control pill - went out of business) to get back into biology. Took belly dancing lessons when I was at OSU. Kept at it until 1996 (or therabouts). Had some regular gigs at various restaurants in the area and danced with a group at the various belly dance events. After I wasn't dancing anymore, I had time to join CARDA (www.carda.org). CARDA does search and rescue. It involves camping, and radios, and other cool tech stuff, and dog training. My husband, Bill, is now on the CARDA board of directors, he is a trailing dog handler; I am also a trailing dog handler, but it is tough now to go out on a call when I have a temp job and no vacation time built up. Bill went back to school and is just now finishing his PhD in Electrical Engineering and is working for a solar company. We've had some fun vacations along the way - a number of them at dinosaur digs. And now you are all caught up.

I went to Lakewood Elementary, LOJHS, and LOHS my sophmore and junior year. My father got transferred to Mesa, AZ the summer between my junior and senior year so I ended up graduating from Mesa High School in 1969. I live in Green Valley, AZ, south of Tucson with my husband of 38 years. I am an active retiree playing tennis, bike riding, hiking, and swimming. I'm interested in receiving information on upcoming reunions or events so, hopefully, I will be able to reconnect with some long lost classmates. I hope to be able to attend a reunion in the future. |

I can't believe I'm doing this after 40 years. When I left in 69 I never looked back. I stayed in the Beaverton area most of the time. I bailed from the corporate world in 98. I do contact work now and then. Been married 31 years and like life in the slow lane here in St Helens. |

Hi there everyone! I am so glad to know a lot of you will be attending the reunion. I am sorry to say that I will not be able to attend. I want to thank Veva and Laurie and the others for their hard work and time that they have put into this website and reunion. May it be the best time for all. I will be looking forward to seeing the pictures of this event. I know I will miss not seeing or sharing the good times with you. Just enjoy and be safe. It is very sad to see those that have passed away. Each will be remembered. They say you can never go home and it is true but the memories will always be there. The memories we made in 1969 and the roads we took from there is only our journey through this life. God Bless you all! |

What a long strange trip it’s been. I have been living in Eugene since high school. I graduated from the University of Oregon in 1974 after getting married in 1972. I have two great kids who were both better students than I ever was. For the last twenty eight years I have been a package car driver for UPS. I could never stand being in an office so the active lifestyle has suited me well. I have also stayed active in politics and have served as a union steward and trustee on the executive board of my Teamster Union local. Being in Eugene has also offered me the opportunity to spend time enjoying the natural wonders Oregon has to offer. I live four blocks from the Willamette River and wish I could spend more time in my drift boat chasing all species of fish. I have also been playing with bonsai for thirty years after working with nursery stock and landscaping for a few years. I never imagined the paths my life would take but I always hope for a new adventure every day. |

You know, I kinda like that song too,"What a long, strange trip it's been". Hard to believe that chunk of life is under the bridge. Blink your eyes and it's gone. I'm looking forward to seeing you all for the first time in 40 years. Should be a lot of fun. |

Forty years have passed amazingly quickly. It seems like just yesterday that I was trying to sneak into the Open Seas Tavern-maybe it was just last night-I know I was arguing with the bartender to get my AARP discount on a pitcher. It also seems odd to be communicating with high school friends via a website-I remember struggling with a party line that my “girlfriends” parents shared with “her other boyfriends” parents. What are the odds of that? We should all pledge to be “friends” on Facebook - Twitter every thought. I have been an attorney in Seattle for 33 years; specializing in plaintiffs personal injury cases. I’ve been married to Deborah Seton-a LOHS class of ’72 graduate for almost 32 years. Blind date from a law school buddy! We have 2 children, a son, Travis 24, and a daughter, Wesley 21. Travis graduated from U.C. Santa Barbara and is currently a second year law student at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. Wants to be an entertainment lawyer in L.A.. Wesley is a senior at Santa Clara University and is currently applying to law schools in the Bay area. They both appear to be under the impression that the nation is suffering from a shortage of lawyers. We try to spend most winters in Palm Desert and enjoy golf and tennis in the desert. We also boat on Lake Washington and in the San Juan Islands-with as many coerced family trips as tolerated. Most recent boating adventure was Seafair ’09 with the unlimited hydroplanes. My son was hauled off the boat in handcuffs-returned an hour or so later saying he was changing his law school emphasis to defending the rights of the wrongfully accused. I do a little large canvas abstract painting-generates a lot of laughter and ridicule from family and friends. My “work” is a little Pollockesque-it seems to improve with several cocktails. Let me know if you want one-takes about 5 minutes. It’s hell not to have your talent recognized. Hope to make the reunion-be fun to see everyone. Much appreciation for all the hard work by organizing group. |
